How to Use Google Docs and Google Drive

Introduction:
Google Docs- is a free web-based office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. It also was a storage service but has since been replaced by Google Drive. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users. Google Docs combines the features of Writely and Spreadsheets with a presentation program incorporating technology designed by Tonic Systems.

Data storage of files up to 1 GB total in size was introduced on January 13, 2010, but has since been increased to 10 GB, documents using Google Docs native formats do not count towards this quota. The largely anticipated cloud storage feature by Google is said to be replacing most of Docs’ features in 2012. This extension and replacement of Google Docs called Google Drive was opened to the public on April 24, 2012.

Google Docs originated from two separate products, Writely and Google Spreadsheets. Writely was a web-based word processor created by the software company Upstartle and launched in August 2005. Spreadsheets, launched as Google Labs Spreadsheets on June 6, 2006, originated from the acquisition of the XL2Web product by 2Web Technologies. Writely’s original features included acollaborative text editing suite and access controls. Menus, keyboard shortcuts, and dialog boxes are similar to what users may expect in a desktop word processor such as Microsoft Word or LibreOffice Writer.

On March 9, 2006, Google announced that it had acquired Upstartle. At the time of acquisition, Upstartle had four employees. Writely closed registration to its service until the move to Google servers was complete. In August 2006, Writely sent account invitations to everyone who had requested to be placed on a waiting list, and then became publicly available on August 23. Writely continued to maintain its own user system until September 19, 2006, when it was integrated with Google Accounts.

FEATURES:

Google Docs is Google’s “software as a service” office suite. Documents, spreadsheets, presentations can be created with Google Docs, imported through the web interface, or sent via email. Documents can be saved to a user’s local computer in a variety of formats (ODFHTMLPDFRTF,TextOffice Open XML). Documents are automatically saved to Google’s servers to prevent data loss, and a revision history is automatically kept so past edits may be viewed (although this only works for adjacent revisions, and there is currently no way to find and isolate changes in long documents.). Documents can be tagged and archived for organizational purposes. The service is officially supported on recent versions of the Firefox,Internet ExplorerSafari and Chrome browsers running on Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X, and Linux operating systems.

How to Use Gmail Call Phone and Google Voice Tutorials

Google voice

Google Voice Brief Introduction

Google Voice (formerly GrandCentral) is a telecommunications service by Google launched on March 11, 2009. Google Voice had some 1.4 million users in October 2009, 570,000 of whom used the service 7 days a week. This number has risen markedly since Google made the transition of its Google Voice service from ‘invitation only’ to be available to all Gmail subscribers. However, Google has not released a more recent number of users, claiming only that it is in the millions.

The service is configured and maintained by the user in a web-based application, styled after Google’s e-mail service, Gmail, or through the service’s Android and iOS apps. Google Voice currently provides free PC-to-phone calling within North America, and PC-to-PC voice and video calling worldwide between users of the Google Voice and Video Chat browser plugin (available for Windows, Intel-based Mac OS X, and Linux).

Users in the US may place outbound calls to domestic and international destinations from their cell phone app, from the web-based application, or by dialing their Google Voice number. As of August 2011, users in many other countries also may place outbound calls from the web-based application to domestic and international phone numbers. Domestic and outbound calls to the US (including Alaska and Hawaii) and Canada are currently free from the U.S. & Canada and $0.01 per minute from everywhere else. Many other Google Voice services; such as voicemail, free text messaging, call history, conference callingcall screening, blocking of unwanted calls, and voice transcription to text of voicemail messages, are also available to users resident in the US. In terms of product integration, transcribed and audio voicemails, missed call notifications, and/or text messages can optionally be forwarded to an email account of the user’s choice. Additionally, text messages can be sent and received via the familiar email or IM interface by reading and writing text messages in Gmail or by adding contact’s phone numbers in Google Talk respectively (PC-to-Phone texting). Google Voice multi-way videoconferencing (with support for document sharing) is now integrated with Google+ Hangouts.

How to Use it (Web Analytic) “Google Analytics”

Google analytics

Web analytics is the measurement, collection, analysis and reporting of internet data for purposes of understanding and optimizing web usage.

Web analytics -is not just a tool for measuring web traffic but can be used as a tool for business and market research, and to assess and improve the effectiveness of a web site. Web analytics applications can also help companies measure the results of traditional print or broadcast advertising campaigns. It helps one to estimate how traffic to a website changes after the launch of a new advertising campaign. Web analytics provides information about the number of visitors to a website and the number of page views. It helps gauge traffic and popularity trends which is useful for market research.

There are two categories of web analytics; off-site and on-site web analytics.

Off-site web analytics -refers to web measurement and analysis regardless of whether you own or maintain a website. It includes the measurement of a website’s potential audience (opportunity), share of voice (visibility), and buzz (comments) that is happening on the Internet as a whole.

On-site web analytics -measure a visitor’s behaviour once on your website. This includes its drivers and conversions; for example, the degree to which different landing pages are associated with online purchases. On-site web analytics measures the performance of your website in a commercial context. This data is typically compared against key performance indicators for performance, and used to improve a web site or marketing campaign’s audience response. Google Analytics is the most widely-used on-site web analytics service; although new tools are emerging that provide additional layers of information, including heat maps and session replay.

Historically, web analytics has referred to on-site visitor measurement. However in recent years this has changed, mainly because vendors are producing tools that span both categories.

How to Use it “Google Calendar” with Introduction

Introduction to Google Calendar

Google calendar

Google Calendar Definition:

Google Calendar- is a free time-management web application offered by Google. It became available on April 13, 2006, and exited the beta stage in July 2009. Users are required to have aGoogle Account in order to use the software.

Interface

The interface of Google Calendar, designed by Kevin Fox, is similar to desktop calendar applications such as Microsoft Outlook or iCal on Mac OS X. The Ajax-driven interface enables users to view, add, and drag-and-drop events from one date to another without reloading the page. It supports view modes such as weekly, monthly, and agenda. Users can “quick add” calendar events by typing standard English phrases, such as “Dinner with Michael 7 p.m. tomorrow”. Users can also set the number of days to show in their custom view mode.

Content access

Events are stored online; consequently, the calendar can be viewed from any location that has Internet access. For users who might experience a hard drive failure, it also means that no data is lost. The application can import Microsoft Outlook calendar files (.csv) and iCalendar files (.ics, the de facto open calendaring file format). Multiple calendars can be added and shared, allowing various levels of permissions for the users. This enables collaboration and sharing of schedules amongst groups. General calendars available for importing into one’s account include those containing national holidays of various countries. Users can also add “live” iCalendar URLs that update regularly.

Compatibility

Because Google Calendar is a web-based application, it runs on virtually any operating system, provided that the OS has a browser which supports the required web technologies. Since it uses recent browser features, browser compatibility includes Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8; Mozilla Firefox2.0+; Opera 9.5; Google Chrome; and Safari 2.0.3.

Google Calendar supports exporting calendar data through a permanent HTTP URL containing iCalendar data, either at a public or “private” (hard to guess) address. This bears resemblance to the Webcal “protocol”. Public calendars were searchable until February 2009. The data can be integrated with, among many others, Novell Evolution, and Windows Calendar in Windows Vista (using the subscribe feature). The web link for the location of the calendar can be found in Google Calendar Settings in the Private Address section.

Google Calendar also supports CalDAV using iCal 3.x. Google announced in March 2013 that CalDAV would be limited to “whitelisted” developers only, and other developers would be limited in the future to Google Calendar API.

Consistency and reliability

As in other cloud computing applications, changes to Google Calendar are immediately visible to all users. This allows new features to be added without user action, but also makes it possible for new bugs to be rolled out to the entire user population, without users being able to refuse the update. On March 18, 2010, an update to add the Smart Rescheduler feature caused problems such as automatic invitations to nonexistent users being generated for events that were edited in secondary calendars. Despite negative user feedback, Google chose not to roll back the update, concentrating instead on providing a fix. According to user reports, the fix took effect five days later, on March 23, 2010.

Starting Line As A Virtual Assistant Very Hard To Do.

Straight road to follow

Straight road to follow

In every aspect in life starting to everything is hard to do. Starting to something much harder when  no planning has been made. Inexperience to every field will put your mind in solitude and uncertainty. When doing some sort of building or creating a project without plan or blueprint results to inferior outcome. Guides and tutorials maybe a good help; but, determination to do a thing much better even the outcome takes a bit longer. Experience, the best teacher as they said; but, how can you have an experience when you are on new kind of thing. Unless, you begin to start anew and find yourself in the midst of unsuccessful result. More sleepless nights and mind clearing where to begin and how to start. As to a child the first stand clinging on to a crib and making the first step without any to cling to,is awfully very hard. Must do attitude be practised without hesitation even how many times you make a fall. Trying hard to “do good results” is a virtue. Discipline had a much better impact in one’s attitude on how to make a good start.

A well planned project had a good outcome as always perceived by the one working. Comments will be made after the job or project been fulfilled. With this comment you may see as the mirror of what you had accomplished. As to others it is an intrigue but for mediocre people it is a sign of gaining success for the start. We may dissolve some to correct and some of it would be ignored or as “netizens” we can “spam/reject” some unnecessary comments. Failures had been a factor where we may had discouraging experience to start into the new activities. Unless somebody else introduced us into the right “turning point”. Yet our mind is still uncertain whether this the path to success. Believing to oneself another (self-determination) option and tool offsetting discouragements that we endured with our life. The act of doing from the fresh start will absolve us from the so-called of not giving a try solution to an existing problem. Problems prosper when average men with solution do not participate in solving.

On my part, with my age and secluded field of profession internet jobs a very foreign to me, until I had my guiding hand of Mr. Jomar Hilario mentoring software for becoming a “Virtual Assistant“. Since 2007 I had been looking in the internet for something that can help me to earn. All I encounter were those websites that does not help but to take your money first, before their very hard software to interpret. Personally I can’t be full-time to internet exposure for my offshore job. We don’t have internet connections for our personal use, only for official ship to company messaging. Spending with my hard-earned money I had downloaded some tools and programs that was unusable to me. Acquiring the mentoring by downloadable version truly help me start this new venue of searching for a new job as for turning point of earning for livelihood. Although, for just a mere start I already feel the hardship. But, with persevering I pray and expect to attain success for venturing this new pathway. As for commitment to assignments this will be my first “Presentation”. Learning and discovering different ideas also an education. Education known to be an unending process of life.
